The Spirit Of Christmas And New Year....Tell me yours...!!!
Christmas is coming soon kan...The only reason why i have to "balik kampung" at the end of the year is bacause of christmas...i can't imagine what my life will be if i celebrate christmas here in KL...maybe it's gonna be the biggest disaster in my life lols....I remember my younger years celebrating christmas in Bingkor,Keningau.......And i can't wait to go back to sabah next month...yay..!!!!..lols..can't wait to kumpul togadher-gadher with all my cousins...well let's bring back all the memories here in my blog...
When i talk about christmas, all i remember is Tapai,Beer,Chivas,Red Wine,Stout...bla..bla...truly insane kan...hahaha...my mom will start baked her cookies 1 month before christmas...and the tapai preparation will be 2 months before..lagi lama,lagi sadaaappp tu tapai...yay!!!...As a choir member, we will start choir practice in early November...i've joined Christmas Carols since 1995 till 2004..9 years straight...Moving from house to house around "Mukim Bingkor"...man..wish i can go back to that time...lots of memory ooo...kana bubut anjing,salah masuk rumah urang(umah muslim),ada ahli choir yang mencuri bunga di umah urang, ada yang jatuh masuk dalam tabasan, kereta tekubur,kana hujan,ada yang terbakar baju(si helyis),kana bawa meginum,kana marah urang(sana bunsit), ada yng mula becouple-couple(no komen)..bla..bla..everything la...
As for me, "christmas eve" is the important thing in christmas...24th December...The spirit of christmas blast off here...the usual phenomenon in christmas eve is...you can the face of people who "1 tahun 1 kali pi churh"..hahaha!!!..the crowd in the church is not as usual...ada yang sampai duduk di luar...bediri lagi sebab tia cukup bangku...Once a year like this pun...bagus juga..hahahaha...In Bingkor, the mass usually start at 10 pm...a bit late kan tapi still happening....Here, u can meet "Kawan2 lama"...Especially to those who travel out of Keningau...bermulalah adegan-adegan "touching-touching"...bikin sedih sampai sya pun tida sanggup tingu...
Me and the gang usually will rushed to keningau town after the mass...We will have out late night supper at "Yam Fatt" (24 jam nie!!!) Restaurant or at "Yau Hau Fook Bakuteh"...Siap sambung2 meja lagi....This is more like an Opening Christmas party lah...
The next morning..There is another mass to attend..but this time, the crowd is not the same...because most people is still drunk (Kogutan)...it's sabahan tradition..mo buat macam mana lagi kan...
After the mass, the party begin..!!!!...You dunno which house you have to go first...u can see "Open House" everywhere....sana makan..sini pun makan...When i was still with the choir years ago, we will rushed to Ungkok's house first...hahaha...after that, masing2 cari member yang ada kereta...quite easy to go everywhere u want...maklumlah, urang inda ada kereta kan dulu...
I will visit all my cousins house at the first day of christmas...i still remember when i was a kid...we used to "Bertanding sapa paling banyak rumah"..hahaha...i managed to visit almost 20 house at the first day...hahaha...some kids time huh...!!!
The celebration will go on until 31st December...I dunno how other people celebrate New Year Eve..But in Sabah, this is the Grand Celebration for us...The usual phenomenon is..."Chicken Wings capat habis di supermarket".."arang api capat habis di supermarket".."Sungai bandukan penuh urang"..."Beer and Stout jadi Official Drinks"...bla..bla..
For those who love to celebrate New Year beside the river, Sungai Bayayo in Kg Bandukan Lama is the best place to choose...But since 1997, people prefer to celebrate New Year at Home...We still remember the "Ribut Greg"...hahaah...Mati kana bawa sungai nanti geng!!!..
After 31st December...the party will be a bit slow...No wonder la if u see people masuk-keluar hospital....Aramai tie punya pasal...For those who plan to organise a simple christmas party(low budget), this is the right time...hehehe...people usually get bored with alchohol after 31st December...hahahaha...
There's a lot of lovely memory happen whenever christmas appear every year...we can never forget it....Laugh,family gathering,meeting long lost friends...man...if we can stop the time...and let all the happy moments stay with us...but life have to go on kan...The moments will appear once a year, so feel it.......
